Remembering When - Ammon

For Christi's birthday in 2004 Christi was pregnant with Calvin, I was working at UPS and the Cabinets and we felt she could use a friend. We picked up Ammon Warrior Macy at 6 weeks of age. Christi was just getting in a little practice before Calvin arrived. We had no idea what we were getting into. Fortunately Ammon was potty trained just as Calvin was born. He is now best Calvin and Oliver's best friend. He weighs about 150 lbs and is about 6' 4" when he stands to give me a hug every day I return home. This was at Lake Stampede near Truckee, CA for Memorial Day weekend 2007

Guitar Hero

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Utah at Sid and Leslie's house this year. They were awesome hosting most of the family. We were able to spend the better part of one day riding motorcycles (the guys) and shopping (the gals). The turkey dinner was incredible and thoughtful Whitney picked up Guitar hero for everyone to enjoy. It was a hit!! Thanks Whitney. It sure was great to see everyone. We missed a few however as the Moores are a little too far away in Rome, Italy, and the Whitings and Bills weren't able to make it out this year.

Big Basin

In the month of September my friend Marc Rosenblum got married in Scotts Valley, CA which is basically Santa Cruz and just a few miles north is Big Basin state park where you find many of the tall Redwood trees. We camped for a night and enjoyed a guided hike where we could learn about these beautiful trees.

Motorcycle Boys

The boys are definitely a chip off the block. Anytime a bike is fired up they are there begging to ride. In fact even when the bikes are locked in the garage we tend to find the boys climbing and sitting on them.

The Harvest

The boys look forward to this time of year as they get to go play on tractors, do the hay rides, pony rides and play in the pumpkin fields.

Halloween

As we begin we will be posting a fair amount of the recent past. Halloween was a blast for the boys this year. It seemed that Calvin was in costume for exactly one month before the actual day. He was a fire man with 2 of his best buddies. He always made sure to put on his costume if somebody was coming over. Especially a girl! Oliver wasn't overly impressed with his puppy dog costume but quickly seemed to overcome his discomfort upon seeing the results that came at every door.

Getting Started

We have been watching and envying our sister in law's Blog for over a year now and decided it was time for us to give it a go. We hope that this will turn into a nice family journal for review in the years ahead, but right now we feel that we have been remiss in keeping you, all of our dear friends and family, current on the life and progress of the Macy family. Please excuse any mistakes that we may make as we learn how best to present the ride we call our lives. Love to you all.
