Hot Squirrel in Magnolia!

If anyone wants to know how hot it's been here......just look at this squirrel! It has been 105 degrees the last few days and maybe a few degrees hotter according to some forecasts. The picture quality is low because I took it through the window. Hopefully you can make it out. This squirrel has his back legs splayed out like some dogs do. Oliver spotted it. He asked"Mommy what is that squirrel doing?" Good question, probably trying to cool off! For those of you that know how hot is does get here, it hasn't been fun in Sac town at the Macy residence. No central air, but do a have a lousy, almost good for nothing standing AC unit that barely "puts out." To say the least, this "big mama" has been one "hot mama" no pun intended. Anyone want company for the summer?

Father's Day!

On this Happy Daddy's Day you see me relaxing on J-P's new hammock that the kids and I found for his gift. However, this was at the end of the day and my first attempt to see how it felt. Yes it feels great, thanks for asking! It's been cooler in Sac than usual, but you won't find anyone complaining around here.
These pics are out of order, but this was taken down by the river. We ventured out for some water scenery. We are trying to make funny faces.
Caught Oliver earlier playing in this bin of dirty water. Luckily he changed out of his Sunday duds. Love his front slick hair-do! Calvin is our pet groomer who insists on brushing the pooch "in style". If I didn't know better, I would say he was a blind boy trying to make some extra change. Man's best friend! J-P loves singing "Stand by your Man" to Ammon. This dog does just that and if I try to get any affection from "my man" the dumb dog barks at me. I love Ammon too, but these two! Please!
The happy couple! See what I mean?

Not sure what I'm telling Oliver here, but I'm sure it's really philosophical and deep. I think that's why he looks so confused. Wanted to add that there seems to be more pics of me and the kids and it's ironic because that's how it was on Mother's Day. (I don't think it was posted) I took more pics of J-P and the boys on my day then the opposite. We keep it balanced. All in all I think it was a good day for the dad of the family. He had early Sunday meetings so I got up and made him french toast with honey butter.....mmmm scrump! After church, I made a big brunch that consisted of cinnamon rolls, hash browns, eggs and bacon. It was happy eating. Then a nice lazy afternoon nap for the parents as the kids watched a movie and snuck popcicles. I think they ate about five each. At least they were occupied and we got some rest! Then that's when we headed off to the river.
