Spring Break, but more like Spring Fever!

The sun doesn't shine much here in Portland, and where the rain reigns supreme, we folks have to find things to entertain us, indoors.

This happens daily, not just during spring break.  I know it's pathetic.  J-P has to sit down to get a proper hug from Ammon.  Man's best friend, what else can I say? It's so cute.

Cosette and her silly ways.  This is what she did when I said to smile for the camera.

She tends to be a bit cheeky this girl.

She also has a way a finding things I don't want her to. Just apart of toddler development.

Building forts big enough for Ammon to fit into

We went to the zoo and Calvin instantly wants to know where the cougars are....this was our first stop.

This polar bear was missing something upstairs because every time he got out of the water, he would walk backwards from whence he came. He did this three or four times before he could get any where else.

These elephants were so funny! The baby kept chasing the mommy and the mommy was so fed up with her little one that she turned around and snorted at it! I can definitely relate. It's nice to see in the animal kingdom that they need breaks too, sometimes.

The kids said, "It's rhino booty mom," before I could make out what animal it was.

Indeed it is, with a little extra that came out the back.

When we got home, Calvin was so excited to see all the pictures of the animals. He went through all the pictures and then asked why I didn't take a picture of every single animal. :) This kid loves animals.

St. Patty's Shenanagans

I tend to feel a little obligation towards this holiday because of J-P's Dad's side of the family, they are Irish.  Sherlock is the name and I think that name can't get any more Irish than that.

I made Sheppard's pie all from scratch to commemorate the day.  At least J-P, Cosette and I liked it, now if I could only get Calvin and Oliver to eat it. Maybe one day.

One year ago St.Patty's day we had Ilene and Morgan over for mashed potatoes and corned beef.  It was all fun except for our scratchy throats.  For some reason we figured the potatoes left us all with a funny sensation in the back of our throats. They must of been bad potatoes.
