Corona Life 2020

The Corona life has definitely been less than desirable.  School was let out one week before spring break and it was the longest spring ever. No travel, no back to school, no restaurants, no shops and no seeing friends. Quarantine was hard, but we tried our best to beat the dark days of being locked inside our house.

Our boys turned the music up loud and let off some steam. Reminds me a little of "Risky Business" when Tom Cruise danced with his sunglasses on.  They brought a smile to their faces and ours.

With time on our hands, it's been fun to go through old photos. This is my mother when
she was a young teen. So beautiful.   She had a fondness for animals and even though
my daughter never knew her, I'm finding that somethings are in the genes.

During quarantine, spring made her beautiful appearance. Being stuck inside, with the worry of what could happen, it gave us hope that life still continues in ways we can't control.

The neighbors spun some cotton candy and it matched the blooms on the trees.

Easter! What a LOVELY morning.  Let the hunt begin!

The Easter Bunny brought lots of fun treats

Our feast to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.  We believe he died for
our sins and that we will live again, just like him, after we pass from this life.

I love seeing my plants come alive again after they lied dormant
                                    during the winter months.

Our back yard as spring is turning over. Off to the left, J-P started the deck.

Mother's Day came and it wouldn't be the same if I didn't pull out the kids glass
necklaces they made for me in 3rd grade.

Coco's first cake with sprinkles and all.

It feels so good to let the wind blow on your face and take away all the quarantine jitters.

J-P turned 48. Can you believe it? Nearing the big 5-0.

One of his favortites, chocolate chip creme pie.

She can fly.

I went to UCLA ext for this writer's workshop and had a great learning experience. I realized, like I always do.....IT'S HARD TO WRITE!  I learned a lot and met a few people along the way. Two weeks after I got home, things started closing because of the virus. I felt very fortunate to have had that time perfecting my craft as a writer.

It was so fun to be on UCLA campus for the writers workshop.

After returning from LA, we were able to ski on one of the last weekends before they shut it down for the virus. I love skiing when the sun is out.

Lots of bike riding with friends to pass the time. This was our spring break and we had the most amazing weather that week in spite of gloomy times.

George, as always our comedy relief. Does someone have a monkey on his back?

Trainer George to our rescue. With being in lock down mode, we need someone to motivate us to help burn some extra gush around our middle. Well, for Ma and Pa anyway.

He's always on the job even when he sleeps.

Living in Portland is like having a botanical garden in your back yard. We have so many flowers that grow easily here.  It's eye candy for the soul.

I took all of these photos with my broken iPhone 8. Untouched. Pure nature. It's natures art.

IDAHO!!!

We took our annual trip to my homeland. We spent a day at the lake.

Lots of cousin time.

Thanks Dan for being boat captain for the day.

I caught Calvin holding his chin while sleeping. Ready for a goodnight kiss.

After time in Idaho with the fam I had to beg the kids to go to Yellowstone. It didn't take
long to convince them. We drove in the opposite direction of home. Who complains about going
to a national park? Teenagers!

We saw a moose!

I took all of these photos with my broken iPhone 8. No kidding.

Have you ever wondered if good Old Faithful is as spectacular as it seems? It's better!
It was so incredible! She spout out her water like she was angry, but it was faithful.

Who knows if they really appreciated the beautiful scenery, but I feel good about putting
this trip in their memory bank.
