Slowly but surely I have been looking into different 4x4 clubs. On Saturday Calvin and I went out for the day with the Sacramento Jeepers. What was looking like it might be an adventurous trail in the snow ended up being a bunch of street driving with one stop to play. Unexpected barriers kept us from our intended route
The Scrambler almost got on top of this 6 ft snow pack.

The CJ 8 was by far the oldest and worst condition Jeep for the day. I still think it was the coolest one too!
Some of the beauty near our home. We drove over this, the South Yuba River, on our Jeep run.
Our original intent was to drive through this covered bridge and on to a dirt / snow covered road. This is the Oregon Creek crossing. The bridge is one of, if not the only covered bridge in California you can drive through. Ages ago this bridge was knocked off its base by floods from an upstream dam break. It turned end for end and went about 150' down stream. It is 100' long. They pulled it back into place with a team of ox. It was replaced in its reverse orientation. That is how it has sat ever since. It was closed for repairs this weekend.
Calvin got lots of snow play with other Jeeper's kids.
Sunday was ward conference so we accepted an invitation to visit Greg at his families cabin at NorthStar at Tahoe. This was Oliver's first play in the snow. We did some sledding. He was amused for a brief while.
